Anyone in the room can take part by having a turn on one of the laptops or by connecting from their phone. And anyone around the world can participate by visiting Nudel, Pastagang’s jamming website. When everyone is part of the same performance, the line between performer and audience member becomes blurry. It also means that anything can happen. Programs can crash, things can go wrong, and mistakes can be made. On the other hand, it’s often surprising what the wisdom of a crowd can achieve when challenged. Either way, the emphasis is not on the output of the performance. The goal is interaction and collaboration, no matter what the result is. The performance ends with Pastagang’s tool, Nudel, getting deleted from the internet.
