Lil Data is the hyperpop live-coding PC Music project by Manchester-born, Iceland-based musician and researcher Jack Armitage. As well as releasing on the seminal PC Music label, Lil Data has production credits for Charli XCX and Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi, and co-created and voiced MC Boing on Danny L Harle's Harlecore project on Mad Decent. Lil Data's work spans experimental concerts, electronic club performances and DJ sets, multimedia installations, interface design, sound design, music production and composition, and more. Jack Armitage has over 30 publications in music technology research, completed a postdoc at the Intelligent Instruments Lab in Iceland, and has a PhD from the Augmented Instruments Lab in London. In 2025, Jack began hosting an art-science residency in rural Northeast Iceland through his new studio-lab Afhverju Ekki.
