Murad Khan

Murad Khan is a course leader and senior lecturer at UAL's Creative Computing Institute. His research explores the relationship between pathology, perception and prediction across cognitive neuroscience and computer science, outlining a philosophy of noise and uncertainty in the development of predictive systems.

As a vehicle for artistic inquiry into computational systems, their collaborative research studio, Unit Test (Murad Khan and Martin Disley), explores the place of investigative methods in counter data-science practices. Their most recent project, an essay film and multi-channel installation called Not I, explores the problematics of contemporary vocal profiling technology through adversarial engagement with a model called Speech2Face.

They have exhibited, spoken and delivered workshops at venues across Europe including Akademie der Kunste (Berline, DE), Unsound Festival (Krakow, PL), arebyte Gallery (London, UK) and Edinburgh Art Festival (Edinburgh, UK).
