Das Foyer der Kunstuniversität ist ein offener Raum für Treffen, für spontane und informalle Presentationen oder Workshops. Es werden drei Filme gezeigt, die man sich in Ruhe und mit Kopfhörer anschauen kann. In steht ganzen Zone ist freies Wlan zur Verfügung.
Am Infopoint wird es Bücher geben und auch der puredyne Usb-Stick ist hier erhältlich!

PD/GEM
GEM stands for Graphics Environment for Multimedia and is an external (plugin) for the computer-music software Pure Data (PD)
GEM is now maintained at the IEM by IOhannes m zmölnig. Future developments will be aimed at Linux, OS-X and Win32 platforms.
GEM is open source software, it is free for any use and can be downloaded from the internet. GEM runs on LINUX, OSX, Win32 and IRIX platforms.
GEM follows the programming paradigm of PD.
We will have about 8 PC-stations running with PD/Gem.

Day 1
participants are asked to bring image material and experiment with simple bash/python code that we bring along in order to have an easy experimental introduction to generative image manipulation. We are going to share prepared basic linux/python code that we prepared for the participants to do some image processing.
Day 2
Hands-on werden die unterschiedlichen Lizenzen (Gnu General
Public License, GPL, Create Commons etc) erklärt und deren Möglichkeiten
für konkrete Fälle/Projekte/Fragen der Workshop TeilnehmerInnen erarbeitet.
Der Remix ist die kulturelle Form der Netzwerkgesellschaft. Felix Stalder
beleuchtet technologische, politische, rechtliche, und kulturelle
Dynamiken, die den Aufstieg und die aktuelle Entwicklung des Remix prägen.
In den Konflikten, die damit verbunden sind, spiegelt sich die Tiefe des
aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Wandels und die zentrale Rolle, die Künstlern
und kreativen Produzten darin zukommt.
